Refresher Training
Ideal course if you haven't riden for a while or even if you just want some
additional training to enhance your riding skills and techniques.
Many people how have had a break from riding feel that they benefit greatly
from a few hours refersher training before getting back on a bike.This is even
more relevant when getting onto a modern machine as oppossed to a classic from
the era when you last rode. Bikes, tyres, brakes and roads have all changed
greatly recently and a couple of hours rider training can prevent many days
of frustrating or potentially costly mistakes.

Training can also be completed on a flexi basis to suit your needs.
The training takes place at Ayr College
(MAP) and starts at the pre-arranged time. The tuition will be conducted
on either your own bike or one of our 500cc motorbikes. Training will be
conducted on a variety of roads
in the local area where you learn
to safely control in all manner of situations further enhancing your
previous riding experience. The training ramges from 2 hours to a full day.
All students must bring a valid driving licence, both card and counterpart.
Other Training Courses
The following subjects can also be covered in hourly, 1/2 day or complete day lessons depending on your requirements. Special discount rates apply to 2 or more students.
Motorway and Dual carriageway riding
This training will help you to become competent and comfortable riding at sustained
high speeds on multi-lane roads with a hiigh volume of other road users. Positioning,
forward observation, anticipation, planning and makng progress all form part
of this package.
Night Riding
Riding in the dark can present it's own problems and this training
package is designed to help you cope wih this problem. This is one of the few
courses that is easier to arrange in winter due to the long winter evenings.
Pillion Carrying Riding
Carrying a pillion passanger for the first time can be a daunting
prospect and this training
package is designed
to
help
you
cope wih
this
problem.
Instruction includes how carrying a passenger can effect the control of your
bike, how to adjust your riding to suit the situation and practical implementation
of your newly aquired skills. The course is designed for both rider and pillion.
The pillion passanger initially rides pillion with the instructor
gaining experience and confidence prior to riding pillion with the student.
