CBT Training
In 1990, the government introduced the CBT (compulsory basic training course)
to reduce the number of incidents involving scooter and motorcyclists. The
one day course equips you with the basic skills required to ride safely on
our roads.
The CBT is not a test, it's a training course consisting of a number of theoretical and practical elements including a two hour instructor supervised road ride.
On sucessful completion of the course you will be issued with a DL196 certificate
which entitles you to.
However the following restrictions apply:
Course Content and fees
The training takes place at Ayr College (MAP) and starts promptly at 9am and generally finishes at 4pm. All students must bring a valid driving licence, both card and counterpart. If old style held you require a valid passport as ID.
